Executive & Zip Screens
We offer two models of track screen systems: Phantom Executive Screens and Zip Shade Screens. Also referred to as power blinds or motorized screens, these systems incorporate a specialized zippered sidetrack design that holds the mesh firmly in place. This design allows the screens to withstand high winds with no worries of the mesh blowing out of the tracks. The installation of retractable screens can be incorporated at the early stages of building, or they can be planned in areas where structures are already set in place. These screens can be recessed from view into walls, columns, and ceiling cavities to create a fully hidden screen solution. Available in a wide variety of frame colours, these systems remain out of sight until you need them, restoring your complete view to the outdoors and preserving the look and design of your home. The Zip Shade system is also available in acrylic fabric, acting as a full privacy screen. Both electric screen systems incorporate a Smart Stop feature which can detect obstacles in its path.
Shade Screen
The Shade Screen vertical blind is an ideal solution for locations where tracks cannot be affixed to the home or structure. Installed with optional guide cables, all hardware is made of high-grade stainless steel for longevity and durability. This system is extremely adaptable; operation is available in manual or electric control. The various mesh options control the level of shade, providing comfort while maintaining your view. Acrylic fabric is also available for full protection and total privacy. The Shade Screen is used solely for shade and privacy purposes, providing the homeowner with an economical way to enjoy the outdoors, protected from the sun.
Motorization & Controls
Retractable screen systems combine beauty with functionality. At the convenient touch of a button on a wall mounted switch or on a hand held remote control, one is able to shade and cool any deck, patio, window, terrace or balcony automatically. One single device can control an individual and / or a group of motorized systems from a central location. Control of your motorized screens can also be achieved from any mobile device using Somfy’s MyLink wireless receiver and specialized app.

Is manual operation available on screen systems?
Our Shade Screen model is great for applications where a motor is not required. This system can be lowered with the simple turn of a crank.
How do I clean the mesh fabric?
Spraying the mesh with a garden hose is all that is required to clean the mesh. For areas that have become soiled by insect or bird droppings, mild dish soap and warm water will do the trick.
Will I be able to see through the screen mesh?
Screen mesh comes in a variety of options. You will be able to see through any mesh option regardless of whether you choose insect mesh or a higher solar mesh.
Will screen material provide me with privacy?
Higher density mesh or solar mesh is used to achieve daytime privacy. Solid acrylic fabrics can also be used to provide privacy for both daytime and nighttime use.
What happens if an object is accidentally left in the path of the screen as it lowers?
Our screen systems are manufactured with motors including a ‘Smart Stop’ feature. Upon lowering of the screen, if the drop bar comes into contact with an object, the motor will automatically stop and retract the screen.
Will the screen system protect me from insects?
Our Phantom Executive Screen and Zip Shade Screen systems are ideal for keeping unwanted pests out of your space. The mesh stays firmly locked into the integrated side tracks providing an insect-free area.
Do you have a power blind that can be used for winter protection?
Clear vinyl can be incorporated into our screen systems. This option keeps out the winter weather while allowing the natural light to enter the area, all while maintaining your view.

Installation Process
Detailed Measuring
A site visit is performed by our lead sales technician and a thorough conversation with the client is had to discuss needs and options. Extra care is taken during the measuring process using calibrated laser lines to accurately measure all details of the area. A quotation is provided, with frame and fabric samples available for review and selection right on site.
Area Preparation & Installation
Upon arrival, our technicians will discuss the installation of your screen system with you, ensuring you are comfortable with every step. The technicians will safely move any furniture from the main working area and will replace the furniture to it’s original location once installation is complete. The installation will last approximately 3-4 hours.
Support
A thorough explanation of the retractable screen system will follow, with an opportunity for any questions to be answered. Rest assured that a detailed information sheet, including contact information, will be left with you for future reference and ongoing customer support.
